The reason I am starting this blog is so that I can journal my progress with my weight loss. I want to be around for a long time so that means changing my life style. I have been struggling to lose this weight for quite some time. This is basically for me but any comments and words of encouragment is welcomed. My favorite show is the biggest loser and is most defientely my inspiration. This is going to be the year I conquer my weight problem. Hence, A Happy New Year... A Happy New Me.

another week under our belt

I am happy to report that I lost another 1.4 lbs but my daughter struggled this week and gained .08 lbs. Not bad all considered. I know she will do better this week. I had an amazing week being on vacation. Got a lot of workouts in and even got to go ice skating which I love to do.Would have skated longer than an hour if I had skates that fit my feet properly. Hoping to buy my own someday so I can go skating more often.Such good exercise. My core hurt so bad the next few days. Here's to another good week and I know you can do it Kim. NO EXCUSES.

another week under our belts

We both had a good week. I lost 1.4 lbs and Kim lost 2.4 lbs. So glad I am out of the 240's now and am heading for onederland. I bought my elliptical and have been using it as much as I can. Weekends I normally don't use it because I am at Kim's working out and get home pretty late. I am on vacation this week so I really plan on getting some good workouts in. Even plan on going ice skating one or maybe two days. We shall see how the first day goes since I haven't ice skated in about 10 years. I really have been very religious about entering my calories and workouts to my app on my phone. Really does help alot. Looking forward to another good week for the both of us. Will report back next week. NO EXCUSES.

good for me bad for Kim

I had a really good week. I lost 1.2 lbs but Kim found it and gained 1.2 lbs. Everyone has a bad week and that was hers. I have had plenty bad weeks but I am so determined to lose this weight I have been staying on track. I did have a piece of birthday cake and ice cream yesterday but I made sure I worked out too. Even though I am not feeling 100% because I have a bit of a cold and laryngitis going on I still have managed to get my workouts in. They are having a biggest loser challenge going on here in Arlington for 3 months starting Feb 27th and I would love to do it just not sure if I can because not sure what days and times yet. I did e-mail the guy who is doing it and am now waiting for a response. Can win $1000.Love to win that and get personal training in the process. We shall see. Until next posting, NO EXCUSES!!!!!!!!!!

good week

Kim and I had a great week last week. We both lost 2lbs. Can't wait to see how we do this week. Bought a new Billy Blanks Video and it is pretty intense. Bought my elliptical and will have it this Thursday.(so excited) Not too much else to report so I will report again in a couple of days.

another week down

Well this week Kim and I stayed the same but that is ok since we didn't gain anything. It is so hard to lose this weight. Just need to stay on track. I just know when I get my elliptical I will be dropping lbs much faster. Hopefully I will be able to get it next week. This Sunday I will be doing my first mile walk with some of my co-workers. It will be a little difficult for me because my hips hurt when I walk on cement but I am very determined to get through it. My next walk will be a 5k. Need to get in better shape for that one. Glad Kim and I have changed up our workouts so it doesn't get boring. Well here's to another week into our journey. We will succeed.NO EXCUSES!

not to get discouraged

Had a great week last week by losing 5.2lbs but this week I actually gained .6 lbs but I will not get discouraged. Kim lost .2 and any loss is a good thing. I just need to stay away from my cheesy mac dinner that I love. I will be getting my elliptical soon cause my taxes will be here soon. Then I will have no excuse not to exercise if I don't feel like going out in the cold or rain. I am still going to Curves and L A Fitness. Kim and I are still working out together and have found different things to do so we don't get bored with just one Video. Last week we did DDR Max 2 and DDR Extreme and really got a good sweat going on. Since it is a game it doesn't feel like we are actually working out but believe me, it is! Hopefully next week I can give a better report on our journey together. We still have 11 months to go and really it doesn't end there.It is a life long journey and we will get healthy together. Until next week please keep me and Kim strong. NO EXCUSES!!!!!!!!!!!

weigh in

So, today was Kim and my weigh in since we started over with the new scale. Bought a digital one so Kim and I both could have the same kind. We both had really good news.Kim lost almost 3 lbs and me, almost 6lbs. There is nothing that can stop us now. Still doing good on staying away from our diet cokes although I have been really craving one. I am sure I will have one eventually and I am sure once in a blue moon won't be that bad, but not ready to give in to my craving yet. Didn't get to Curves this week because I was sick with a head cold but feeling much better so it is back to the gym and Curves. Going to workout with Kim tonight. Be back next Thursday to report on our weight loss. No Excuses!!!!!!!!!!!!

staying on track

Kim and I are doing really good about our healthy eating and neither one of us has a a diet coke going on our third week. Not to say we really would like one but not good because it puts on weight. We had an off weekend with our workouts though. I did take about a 2mile walk with Christopher on Saturday while Kim tried to get Johnathans room cleaned up for the twins. But by evening she was tired and I was not feeling good because I have a head cold. Oh yeah on Friday we went out to Souper Salad and didn't get our workout that day either but we did do a workout Thursday night to Bob Harpers cardio video. Sunday we did our workout to Billy Blanks. All in all I think we are doing good. Really can't report on how we did on the scale till this Thursday because we changed to a digital scale and we are going to be weighing in on Thursday mornings as soon as she gets the other one in the mail so she can have one at her house and I can have one at mine. Hopefully the other one will show up before this Thursday. Otherwise it will be the following week before I can report how we are doing. Just like the Biggest Loser is no excuses this season I will have no excuses this year to get myself in shape. I also have joined a walk team at work and will be doing at least 3 walks this year. It will be a challenge for me though since walking on cement hurts my hips unless I am pushing a stroller. My first one is February 5th but is just a mile walk. No Excuses,I will do it. That is all for now. Will report again hopefully on Thursday with good news.

workout with Kim

Tonight Kim and I worked out for the first time this year. Billy Blanks Cardio Inferno kicks our butts. 55 minutes of nothing but cardio. Love to do the video because I really sweat and get a good workout. We are going to do this 3 times a week together but I will be working out at Curves and L A Fitness also. Eating healthy will be a key factor also. Need to stay away from my diet cokes. Water...water...water. We weighed in tonight so next Thursday I will report on how good we did for the first week. I really feel that I can do it this year because I am so pumped about it. Happy New Year, Happy New Me!

keeping on track

So far things have gone very good with my quest for the New Year. I am so determined to lose this weight. Tomorrow Kim and I will be working out together again to the Billy Blanks Cardio Inferno Video. We will do this 3 day in a row and then she will probably take a break but not me I will be working out everyday. As soon as I can I will be buying my elliptical so I can workout while I am watching my favorite show,THE BIGGEST LOSER. Can't wait to see results. I will not get discouraged though. At my age it is hard to lose weight but with hard work and healthier eating habits I think I can do it. I will report again in a few days. Go me and go Kim.

The new year is here and no weight was lost so I am going to give this all I have got this year. No more excuses. I belong to 2 health clubs and am going to buy an elliptical so when I can't get out and when I am watching the Biggest Loser I can workout. Need to get healthy. I will be blogging to keep me on track . Need to lose over 100 lbs so I know this won't be easy but will just take little steps to keep it within my reach. One wekk at a time and no unrealistc goals.
